These are the most ephemeral days; the ones we have held out for longest, have fought for hard, and fiercely, have dreamed of giddily even while sensing that we couldn't possibly know how they would be, their very magic lying in the mystery of their singularity and physicality and brevity.
How is it that the days leading to this miracle crept so slowly, and yet the days speeding you away fall through your fingers before you can stop them, the whirl of feeding and changing, all the acts of love that are the creation of family and history and the story of love. We try to stop time when we can, to sip our tea and stare in wonder and gratefulness and joy, to cradle their tiny fingers and make circles in the crowns of their hair, marvelling at life and the wonder of creation.
Oh, these magical beginnings, they take our breath away, and later on we would give anything to go back and catch them, just for a moment.
This is newborn lifestyle photography; an hour or two in your home, all of you, holding your newborn baby and living wholely in your story, recording moments that will outlast the frailties of memory and time.
