Whether your pregnancy has been the most magical, wonder-filled time of contentment, or more like a whirlwind of appointments and nerves, the business of growing a brand new person is undoubtedly one of the most incredible things you will ever do, and for that reason alone, you might want to capture this time.
Maternity sessions can take place in the natural setting of your home, or celebrate your favourite place to hang out, or alternatively we can head out for an adventure at the beach or forest. I spend a lot of my own family time on the Mornington Peninsula, so I know that area pretty well. Usually lasting 1 (for couples expecting their first baby) to 2 hours (for families with a child or two already), sessions are natural and fun. It's the perfect excuse for taking a small amount of time out of your busy lives to just hang out, and to appreciate what is most special to you: each other.
I chase light and emotion, and let the images fall out of that as they will. If you would really love a whole series of posed photos where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling, that's great, but I might not be the right photographer for you (although I can always try to include one of those in your session). Please take a look at the sessions on my blog, they will give you an idea of what to expect from a family, newborn or baby photography session, except that those people are not you, and so can't possibly show you what your family photos might look like. All my sessions look quite different from each other, because I'm not cookie cutter and neither are you.
Maternity sessions can be combined with my newborn sessions into the two-session Storyteller Package, and pricing information for photography sessions in 2019 can be found here.
