So, you're a little curious
about the experience of a natural photo shoot?

Maybe you’ve never had one and not sure if it’s for you? Or you’ve experienced one in the past, but found it a little awkward. Will it be hard work, will the kids ‘behave’? Let me put you at ease…

What a heart-centred photo session with Sarah is:

connected, honest, tender

-A relaxed hour or two in which no one will be asked to do anything other than play and/or love on their own family members. If that sounds easy, it’s because it is.

-Time out with the most important people in your life. No one ever regrets time spent with family and friends, and some of us might even look back across our lives and wish we’d made more time for just hanging out. To come away with beautiful photos of that time is a sweet bonus, and will help keep those memories alive forever.

-A gift to your future self, and to future generations. Imagine 30 years from now, sitting in your favourite spot in the winter sun, your tea steaming, as you open the family album you will make this year, bringing you right back to this moment, your newborn baby squinting up at you from the page as it was yesterday. That baby who now has babies of his own.

-Beautiful at home. Yes of course I can give you the heads up on Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula’s most gorgeous locations, but photos at home or in your local park can be even more special, as they become memory holders for the places that are truly meaningful to your story.

-Shot on film. But wait….. all your photographs are scanned into high resolution digital files. Actually, I‘ve used digital cameras for years, but exclusively now choose film, because it’s so much more beautiful, especially in print, which is how photographs will mostly be viewed.

-Timeless. Film has such a classic beauty that is far beyond whatever ‘look’ digital photography editing is currently going for, so there’ll never be a time when your photos look out of place in your home or start to feel cringey. I want you to love your photos for a lifetime, not just for 2 years.

What a heart-centred photo session with Sarah is not

awkward, uncomfortable, cheesy.

-What you probably most want to know is that although my work looks natural, I don’t just leave you to fend for yourselves. Few people feel comfortable having their photo taken (at first), so I gently guide you every step of the way.

-About waiting for some future perfect stage. You and your babies are worth capturing at every stage, and in your children’s eyes, you are beautiful right now.

-About your outfits. You are enough just as you are, in whatever clothes you most like to wear. These are your memories, and I want them to be truly unique.

-A collection of headshots. We’re letting formality go to make room for real smiles, play, and connection. This is not the time for restraint or lessons on manners, its a time for big love and open arms.

-Sunny, 22 degrees with a light breeze. We live in Melbourne, and so we go with the flow on the weather. But if it’s really inclement, of course we just reschedule.
