Hello

I’m Sarah, a photographer living on Wurundjeri/Bunurong lands in Australia.

As I see it, good family photography is an artform that holds a light to the wonder of ordinary life; the joy and the tears and the days and years in between.

I’ve been photographing Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula families for 15 years, 10 of those on film. Film - because it somehow manages to hold more feeling. I offer both medium format and 35mm. You can see whole sessions on the Journal, where you’ll find that my style is editorial and playful, but is always tailored to the needs and aesthetic of my clients.

There’s info about family and newborn photo sessions on the Pricing page, and feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more, or to check availability (I’m often easier to get hold of via email than phone), as I’m currently undertaking an MFA at RMIT which limits my office hours.

Family photographs are a gift to your future self: an investment that you will treasure for your whole life, and an important family legacy.

When I’m not making photos of other fascinating people, I’m making art, and you are welcome to check that out over here. I also share my approach to analogue photography with other photographers and creatives, leading occasional film workshops, retreats and mentoring and you can find out more about that on my Learn page.

Welcome.
