Hello , I’m Sarah

Analogue photo of me and mine at home by Yan Palmer.

To me, family photography isn’t a product, and it isn’t cheesy or embarrassing. Good family photography is an artform that holds a candle to the wonder of ordinary life; the joy but also the tears. It’s not for anyone else, it’s for you. It’s one of the few things you will treasure for your whole life, and worth the investment, in both time and money.

There’s an incredible Maggie Smith poem (I also believe in poetry) about how the world has good bones and is just waiting for us to make it beautiful. I believe in family love the way most Melburnians believe in AFL, and my photography work is my small offering towards making this world more beautiful.

When I’m not making photos of other fascinating people, I’m making art for art’s sake. You can check it out over here.

My coffee table is covered in art books and design mags, my dreams are full of travel, my walls are full of pictures, and my head is full of ideas.

My favourite word is ‘Yes’.
