Newborn + Family, Home. on black and white film.

Photographing photographers and their families is always an honour. Staying close to home, and working in a medium that is meaningful to my subjects, in this case black and white film, is an honest and heartfelt offering to a family’s memory-keeping. These photographs were made with just one roll each of of 35mm and 120 film, in this case the high contrast Kentmere200, which is not a usual choice of filmstock for me but which on this occasion offered a kind of experiential intensity to the relaxed scene; not unlike how it is to live with a newborn baby whilst juggling the interests and passions of his newly promoted big sister. Beautiful fleeting days, in classic, black and white film photographs.
