Family. flinders, mornington peninsula

This little cliff side spot in Flinders on the Mornington Peninsula, once a secret beloved by local surfers catching easterly breaks, painters, walkers and hang gliders, is no longer so secret, having become incredibly popular with photographers and their subjects over the last few years…

For families who prefer outdoor sessions to staying home, the Flinders cliffs are a beautiful place for an afternoon adventure, and you can follow up your session with family dinner at the local Flinders hotel, a short 5 minute drive away, after which, bellies and hearts full, the littler family members will hopefully sleep all the way home.

Even though you feel like you’re a million miles away from suburban Melbourne (in fact it’s about an hour away from much of Melbourne)), it’s such a beautiful and dramatic vista that it can sometimes get quite busy, and so if the tide allows it I love for families to have the opportunity to explore the shallow rockpools directly below the cliff. Who doesn’t love dipping their toes into rockpools, and looking for little crabs and sea anemones? There are also days and times of year when crowds are less likely, so make sure you check in with me about this; as a local to this part of the state, there are other lovely locations I can recommend which might also suit your style, and feel less cookie cutter.

Having said all that, this is a truly beautiful part of the world I am lucky to call home, and I’d love to share it with you and your family, and make some irreplaceable family memories.

Let’s go……
